A nice day, touring Morocco

Image
A nice day touring Morocco              During this beautiful day, we will travel a distance of 370 km, in which we will discover what the lands have hidden for us in terms of amazing views and human heritage represented in small villages and agricultural lands adorning the slopes of the mountains and the banks of dry valleys.  We will cross the mountains with their natural parks, and visit villages with their beautiful global urban monuments.           The first thing we will enjoy watching is the majestic Atlas Mountains, which are the main source of water for the Sahara and large areas in the north, in addition to their great role in the fields of tourism and the Moroccan climate.  The High Atlas Mountains are considered the strong barrier that divides Morocco into a largely arid desert south, represented by the Sahara Desert, and in the north, fertile agricultural par excellence.  It was also affected on the other hand in demography, as the Moroccan south

The story of Dynasties, and imperial capitals        Morocco is an ancient land whose first inhabitants, according to the latest archeological discoveries, date back to 312,000 years ago.  What interests us in this short article is a quick recitation of the developments in the timeline in governance and management that have known the region since the ninth century until the present day، of the Emirates and Islamic states that ruled Morocco.    The Idrisid dynasty, in the ninth century, managed to unify northern Morocco, and chose Fez as its capital.  Not long after that, the Idrisids lost control of government in favor of the Almoravid dynasty, which formed the first empire that united the present-day Morocco and Mauritania in addition to Andalusia on the Iberian bank.  A century later, the Almohad dynasty took control of things and preserved to some extent the Almoravid heritage, in addition to the annexation of northern Algeria and present-day Tunisia, and they chose Rabat a

Marrakech! A glimpse of history

Marrakech!  A glimpse of history       Marrakech Alhambra, or the city of palms, is the city of oral cultural heritage par excellence, nationally and internationally.       Marrakesh was found in the eleventh century, when the Almoravids united once again what is now called Morocco and Mauritania, as it was divided into small states at that time. The Sahara gave birth to masked heroes of blue men, the Tuareg;  So that they would unify all those warring areas, each of which controlled a stage of the trade caravan route crossing the countries of Sudan, south of the Sahara, towards the north, "Europe".  When the Almoravids took control of all the countries on the southwestern bank of the Mediterranean, the greater ambition began, to imprint Europe with a civilization difficult to erase from memory architecture, culture and lineages .... The goal was to control the Iberian bank in order to unite it as they united the south under their banner.  It is necessary for them to bu

The country of contrasts

MOROCCO!!!      The country of contrasts              In Africa and only here, there is a country that gathers all the contradictions, combining the culture of the Arab Islamic countries, with the original mother culture, the culture of the Amazigh people, which represents the indigenous population, with their language and features, and their traditions mixed with the ancient Islamic component, as Islam’s presence in the region extends to the first centuries For the Islamic extension. All of the Moroccan people are Arabs and Berbers are Muslims who follow the Sunni Maliki school of thought, except for a few thousand Jews or what we vow of other affiliations that are hardly beyond the fingers of the hand. Morocco is a country that preserved its peculiarity for many centuries, until the beginning of the twentieth century, when the hands of European colonialism extended to a mechanism to give it another kind of difference due to its great proximity to the southern bank of Europe, which

Morocco by foreigner ayes !!!

Douglas Fox-pitt                                                        The Barbarians of Morocco    I accompained  Count Sernberg on this little journey to Fez, not for the purpose of wringing concessions from the Sultan,  but to learn something of the people and the country.        To speak with authority and true understanding of Morocco and it's people requires sympathy and a life long residence amongst them. Although we can not claim to have lived amongst the Moors for more than a few months, we started on our journey in a sympathetic mood, and returned with still more sympathy for these misunderstood people. To say that we thoroughly understood the Moorish character would be to adopt a presumptuous attitude.      Tourists flock to Tangier [-( nowadys to Marrakech as well)-], and,  after a conversation with a low-caste guide and a donkey-ride on the sands take boat to England or America,  and speak with the authority of ignorance on Morocco and it's mysteries.     (..
