Marrakech! A glimpse of history

     Marrakech!  A glimpse of history

Marrakech Alhambra, or the city of palms, is the city of oral cultural heritage par excellence, nationally and internationally.
Marrakesh was found in the eleventh century, when the Almoravids united once again what is now called Morocco and Mauritania, as it was divided into small states at that time. The Sahara gave birth to masked heroes of blue men, the Tuareg;  So that they would unify all those warring areas, each of which controlled a stage of the trade caravan route crossing the countries of Sudan, south of the Sahara, towards the north, "Europe".  When the Almoravids took control of all the countries on the southwestern bank of the Mediterranean, the greater ambition began, to imprint Europe with a civilization difficult to erase from memory architecture, culture and lineages .... The goal was to control the Iberian bank in order to unite it as they united the south under their banner.  It is necessary for them to build their first capital in the north of the Dern Mountains, the High Atlas Mountains now. So they chose a flat site similar to their original homeland, the "Sahara Desert", so their choice fell on the northern side of Toubkal, flat plateau, not far from the Atlas Mountains, and not far from the oldest city in the caravan route  Built thirty km south of Marrakesh, a small, barely remembered town, Aghmat;  And because it was built between two rivers, in the middle of the fields, it would not have received the crowds of immigrants, armies, and caravans coming from the south of the Sahara, south and east of the High Atlas Mountains.  The time has come to build one of the greatest cities in North Africa at the time, with fortified castles and delightful palaces worthy of being the capital of the young Maurish Empire.
A new stage in the history of northwest Africa began, marked by strength in economics, culture, science and other reasons that made it immortal in the memories of historians and history books to this day, so Marrakesh had the great role and great honor for being the imperial capital.
