The story of Dynasties, and imperial capitals

Morocco is an ancient land whose first inhabitants, according to the latest archeological discoveries, date back to 312,000 years ago.  What interests us in this short article is a quick recitation of the developments in the timeline in governance and management that have known the region since the ninth century until the present day، of the Emirates and Islamic states that ruled Morocco.

The Idrisid dynasty, in the ninth century, managed to unify northern Morocco, and chose Fez as its capital.  Not long after that, the Idrisids lost control of government in favor of the Almoravid dynasty, which formed the first empire that united the present-day Morocco and Mauritania in addition to Andalusia on the Iberian bank.  A century later, the Almohad dynasty took control of things and preserved to some extent the Almoravid heritage, in addition to the annexation of northern Algeria and present-day Tunisia, and they chose Rabat as the capital of their state that did not last long, so that the role of the Marinids came at a time of the decline of Islamic influence in Andalusia as well as the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa. After that the empire was divided into two major states;  The Wattasid dynasty in the north, and the Saadi dynasty in the south, in addition to small scattered states, and dispersed hostile minorities, caused continuous rivalries and wars in different places, until the empire was united again by Moulay Ismail, the actual founder of the Alawite dynasty, who restored  A group of coastal areas, castles and cities,  that were under the control of the Spaniards and Portuguese  as well as the English. The same dynasty is still running the country for three centuries, despite the loss of control over some areas historically belonging to the State of the Far Maghreb, as Morocco was called throughout Arab history, after the European imperialist occupation of Morocco, and the division of the imperial legacy into small states, Morocco, Mauritania, and some lands that are making part of the actual Algeria, In addition to conflict areas such as the western sahara, and the eastern sahara, more over the Spanish colonial control of sensitive marine areas located on the Mediterranean Sea, Ceuta and Melilla, and some small islands spread on the northern coast of Morocco, and the Canary Islands located in the Atlantic Ocean, Only 50 km far from the beaches of the south of the country.

That was a quick look on the timeline of an ancient history full of events and interactions, rich in knowledge, science and cultures, busy  of events and happenings.  A variety of interactions and achievements, under the banner of the Islamic Golden Age.
